Conan is officially Out...Jerry Seinfeld in??

With all the hoopla surrounding the Conan vs.Leno vs.Nbc tiff, now resulting with Conan more than likely being forced out and Jerry Seinfeld and not Jay Leno as previously reported-taking over The Tonight Show. As reported on Popeater.com, their reliable source said the reason that there is a force out is that "'The Tonight Show' has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show's lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation.."
Now was there a backup plan in place when they decided to give Jay a chance at 1opm??Methinks there was since they've played this game before with David Letterman who was denied the TS chair after Johnny left and resulted in Letterman switching networks. I believe they were afraid that Jay would use his celebrity status to up the ante' if his show was bad-however I don't think they expected Conan's low ratings on top of an already low rated company (rated #4 in below Fox ,Cbs and ABC)..
New overbudgeted shows failed such as Knight Rider, Crusoe,Kings, and Trauma. Then they cancelled Southland (a much better cop show then COPS)which then got picked up by TNT and Medium went to CBS. Heroes is doin shitty and then that will be gone too. They have a handful of good comedies Community,Parks and Rec,The Office,Chuck and 30 Rock but then what??My Life as Earl is gone and they don't have a "Family Guy" compareable comedy..Comcast is now lookin to buy..But now it seems that their knight in shining armor may be Mr.Seinfeld himself..Personally i think there was a time shift when David Letterman didn't inherit the Tonight Show like most of us had thought at the time was going to happen had money not been the focal point at the time..Jay took over and it was worse.Don't get me wrong, he had his moments but after such a long time doing the same schtick-who the hell wants to watch him at 10pm??? Its like watching a PG movie after the kids are in bed-why would you do that??

Nbc has for the most part dropped the ball-big time. Unless they get someone to fill that 11:35-12:35 spot, who not only has a great rapport with celebrities(it helps if they hangout as friends too)and isn't a Dick ala (Carson Daly-yes you are aDickhead and not at all funny)but can provide the viewer an inside feel to the Hollywood of now like jack benny, don rickles,Johnny carson did back in the day.....

Now here's a vid of Mr. Rickles in the moment..on the Letterman show..

the sad thing is that unlike Jay leno's show or Conan O'brian's show-David Letterman has more pull on stars..Stars show up unannounced and participate on gags all the time and old hollywood has more in common with Dave than any of the other talk show hosts..So maybe Jerry Seinfeld is that common denominator, that can get NBC back on track..we'll just have to wait and see..
