Silver Surfer is washed out..it seems.

Alex Proyas, one of the few directors out there who seems to have an idea when it comes to the "outer space" of science fiction films, turned down an offer from 20th century fox to helm "Silver Surfer", which has been in some sort of limbo since the last FF movie. 20th Century Fox unfortunatly is the loser this year when it comes to not just a box office hit for any of their "tentpole" attractions but for all of their films this year as well. The term "not cutting the mustard" would be a more reasonable term for their lack at the multiplex.
Now to put more oil unto the fire, Proyas backing out or jumping ship, couldn't come at a worse time for the company as they are also in the middle of a lawsuit with Warner Bros. over the rights to "the WATCHMEN", which is practically done shooting and is to be released in march of next year.
Next year, from my understanding, the only big pic from them is XMEN ORIGINS:WOLVERINE.....hopefully they didn't screw that up, too.....
